Sonunu görmediği yolu yürümekten hep korkan bir adamdı
Rezan Şahmaran. Hayal kırıklıklarına uğramaktan hoşlanmayan, insanlara çok sevmediği müddetçe bağlanmayan, sevgisini heba etmeyen bir adamdı.
Zorlu yolların sonunda hayatına bir kadın girdi.
Önünü arkasını düşünmeyi, olanların sonucunu
ölçüp biçmeyi unutturdu ve korkusuzca sona gidebileceğini öğretti o kadın.
Hesapsız kitapsız yürümenin güzel tarafını
bu kadın sayesinde öğrendi. İstemediği, sevmediğini defalarca kez yüzüne vurduğu
kadını bir felaketin sonunda kaybetti.

Kaybetmekten korkan bir aşık olacağı aklının ucundan geçmezdi. Nitekim Rezan Şahmaran’ın kalbi sevdanın yakıcı ateşine yandı. Yandı ve kaybetmekten ölesiye korktu.

Bir zamanlar sevmediği kadına, korkusunu pervasızca haykırdı:

Allah der ki; kimi benden çok seversen onu senden alırım.
Ve ekler: Onsuz yaşayamam deme, seni onsuz da yaşatırım.
Yemin ederim seni benden önce alacak diye
çok sevmekten korkuyorum!
